Zindra - To Move or Not to Move ? That is the Question

As we - we being the adults who deal with adult stuff in Second Life - anxiously await the announcement that Zindra is open for the big 2 week preview the questions loom closer ...

Do we move all of it to Zindra? - I'm going on the theory that we can move all of it .. our homes ..businesses .. game park .. the whole thing -- because i've been resigned if not entirely happy about the whole thing since we intentionally purchased our land in a "mature" region instead of a PG one .. but I'd move to seriously pissed off if they said .. well you can move half ..your other half doesn't qualify .. one advantage of owning a buncha land in the same sim is a buncha prims in a pool after all -

Do we move just the adult part of our business to Zindra? - while we pay for a whole sim ..we don't own a whole sim .. just MOST of it ... so in theory we "could" move probably 2 of the 3 fantasy suites and the statues and not pay anymore tier ...but again ..there's the whole prim pool thing we have going on which is rather handy .. and it would be JUST my luck that as soon as we took some land in Zindra .. then poof ..the land we've been waiting to open up in Coulours would magically appear for one linden or something and then where would we be? ..

Do we just ditch the adult content part and stay where we are?

Do we take them up on their offer to give us a reduced price for an island and pay an extra $100 bucks a month?

I've been checking out various Linden's office hours .. and the Land Expo presentations and researching the whole island thing. I think the Linden employees are trying very hard, it's just that it's hard to explain that mature and PG didn't work out like they planned .. mature got a little more press than is good for business ... well other than the sex trade business .. and that's hard for ordinary corporate boards to accept .. when they see these millions of potential people NOT coming into SL because "It's just one of those internet sex sites." We know it's alot more than that but the press and public like "the story", not details that might contain truth. Anyway Blondin gets the patience of the year award for his office hour session this week - and not just because he answered one of my questions :)

The Land Expo was somewhat useful to learn about islands .. even though I think I scared [or possibly just irritated?] MJ Linden .. hey HE ASKED why we were there :) ... i just told the truth .. i generally ALWAYS tell the truth ... i was there to explore options about whether or not to move to Zindra or take them up on their reduced island fee offer or not .. in his defense the employees have taken alot of crap from alot of people about the adult content issue .. so I get where he was coming from

i didn't even point out that i took OFF my "I am adult content" tag before porting over to the site .. {speaking of the site .. /rant on y'all should DO something about having the same pose for all the balls on the benches there - that irritated me more than the whole A/C thing does - because it's SUCH a .. i don't know how to explain it ... but it's not a good for my avi kinda pose *L* /rant}

Anyway, MJ and Mia and Kate all gave some useful info or at least where to find useful info about island ownership so i'm glad I went

We've wanted an island since forever - or at least about a month or two since joining SL - i have visions and possibly even delusion of grandeur regarding my ability to rent out land - curtailed only by my cynical and realistic approach .. that if you can lose money in SL .. then i'll find a way to embrace it and make it my own ... who else owns a game park that costs them about an extra $100 real dollars a month ...

Mhmm ...maybe we ditch the game park and get the island ... only then I want more than one island because .. i have this plan .... damn ..where's that rich benefactor when you need em?

What I do know is this .. we'll make the best of it .. whichever option we end up doing .. i just wish I knew which option that will be

Ooops - SL might be serious about this whole PG thing!

I was roaming around SL a year and a half, two years ago? and ran into the whole sex room rental thing and thought "how very tacky" yet "interesting" and I was intrigued -- and then I found LaVanya's Fantasy Suite rentals - and had an ah-ha! moment. Something fun and sexy but classy to create that takes no real talent! Right up my ally!

So in my usual manner of planning and plotting and then spending a literal and virtual fortune on equipment - I created The Marquis' Chateau a bdsm type chateau with some really cool not your typical hour rental spot equipment inside and a rooftop playground, Kamchak's Wagon for my favorite Gorean Tuchuk crowd, and the Naughty or Nice fantasy suite which is a holiday themed spanking oriented cabin in a snowy holdiay setting, my own little fantasy come to life or as close to it as second life allows.

All in all, very well done if I do say so myself :) It was a blast creating them. I unfortunately never really figured out how to market them, so it became more a drive by thing on rentals except for a few friends who borrow them from time to time. I'm relatively sure Lavanya's would have accepted us as as affilitates and we could have joined their fabulous network but I never think of it when I'm online, just off, and while we traded a few - sure i'm interested IM me type things we never met or did the hook up.

Anyway, this week on Xstreet at https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=110813 Stroker Serpentine posted about how the majority of his products had been completely borked because ONE script in them was blacklisted by LL. Which meant all 3 of my suites were affected. We contacted Corsi Mousehold, because we had purchased our sexgen items from her store and she fixed them right away.

I'm fairly certain I refunded anyone who might have rented a suite in the last month their money. But if not, please IM me and I'll make it right. For the few folks who complained I made the assumption it was the security orb making the suite unusable, not the equipment, and just refunded their money upon request without asking for specifics. Some folks will go into more detail than i want if I ask "what went wrong" so I usually don't ask when it comes to the fantasy suites :) - I LOVED making the suites, but am not a big fan about using them myself .. irony overflows in my life :)

All our suites are up and running .. at least for another minute until the "adult content" changes go into effect. Even though we are "mature" and "adults" I'm thinking both our fantasy suites and our arguably "erotic statues" sections are going to be nerfed - unless I want to invest in the "adult continent" ... do we?

A question for another day I think.

and the Wolf smells a Hunt

*quivers in anticipation* soon the Hunt will be on .....

On one hand .....

On one hand it's been that kind of week. First I was off work, then I wasn't. Offline things were going great then I went to the dentist. That'll ruin your week fast. I started a great (if I do say so myself) line of zyngo skins called "In the Wyld!" but haven't finished because I'm stuck on ...you ready? ... the Wolf version. Now HOW could that possibly be hard for me?

I upgraded the zyngo game park to include Deal Classic and Deal Extreme, Jaded 5 card kickers, some new Zyngo Freeplay machines, AND Solitaire! How many languages can you say broke in?

Zyngo de Mayo didn't quite have the peppiness I expected, but I didn't start marketing it soon enough either. Soooo ..be ready for next year!

Today I made the new Banner Logo you see up above. Now once we discover the secret to getting it placed just right we'll be good to go.

Blogger is user friendly if you are using the standard layout. I still haven't figured out why they leave so much room on the edges? Why is that? Anyone know? I actually LOOKED for an answer to that earlier this week and must of been using an incorrect search term because I can't find a post to explain it.

Okay, back to the Wolf skin ... or maybe a swim suit ..or some ..where IS that new store of mine?

Unexpected Vacations - Unexpected Fun

My offline birthday was last week, and I purchased myself a new flat screen LCD monitor. Wide screen. BIG! Well, okay, 23 inches. But that's BIG compared to what I had. It was HARD to buy something like that when I had a perfectly fine, if unwieldy and clunky but worked okay old monitor. It was ALOT easier to justify once I plugged it in :)

Thanks to the H1N1 Virus I have an unexpected vacation for 9 work days. I was going to drive over and "grab some work and go" today but they said they wouldn't let us in the building. So here I am with unexpected time on my hands.

Last night while I was pondering how to texture the sombrero I'm going to give away to the group for Cinco de Mayo, I got an invite (via a group I'm in, not a personal one) to a rez day party for Teague Linden. Since any party I've been to with a "linden" present was super fun I put on some dancing shoes and went on over. Nexeas Fatale was DJing his Thursday night dance party that turned into Friday morning and I had a blast dancing the night away - right up until I crashed, which happened MUCH later than I expected so all was good! I must say people in Second Life know how to party!

The new store is going to be GREAT! Here is a small preview of the general layout. It's going to have arched windows and a sunroof type roof. Kasolai Nighbor is building it for us. The hardest thing will be NOT to bug him since I'm on an unexpected vacation and will be in world alot. I should be making clothes and tattoos to fill it up - I better get to work!

Wanted: Rich Dead Uncle! Alive but Generous will Work!

Ah the vagrancies of making money in Second Life. In 3 years, okay, almost three, I've never cashed out a single penny or even linden,never made enough to pay even the smallest tier much less the one we have, spent hundreds of real dollars (don't TELL anyone) and yet .. here we continue to be.

I amaze myself at how easily amused I must be. At how much I literally suck at creating things people will pay for. Don't get me wrong, I am AWESOME at creating free things people will stand in line to obtain.

Sooo, I am seeking either a rich dead [the will must leave most of your assets to me] Uncle, and/or an alive but generous soul. When all is said and done I don't need ALL that much, a few million ought to cover it. Or say, oh, a couple thousand bucks for starters. Checks, money orders, and cash all accepted.

I'd like to say there's something in it for you, but we'd hate to lie.

Or you could come play at our zyngo park and win money, we've given away over 12,000 linden today in our instant win machines - not counting contest boards - and we aren't a place for high rollers - well at least until the rich uncle part steps in :)

I'm feeling broke, can you tell?!

And oh yes! I put out another swim suit. It's pink. I forgot I hated pink, however it's "ummm yummy" as one of the guys on the beach told me :)




If you WANT the job as rich uncle just let us know!

Until then we'll keep making things and having fun - cause in our case it "ain't about the money, honey" ---- obviously :)

First 10 Days of April

Happy Easter!

As the rain and cold pour down, I am reminded that today, for me, is a celebration of renewal and rebirth.

I will leave shortly to join my offline family to celebrate life this day.

Whatever you do this day, I hope you take a moment to just be.
